Prayer For Japan

I thought this was important to post. We just have no idea what it must be like....
Thanks to Barbara at Mommylife

Prayer for Japan

japan earthquake 1.jpg

Making the rounds on the Internet - I was unable to find the attribution, although I learned this is adapted from a prayer written after the Haiti earthquake.
Most of us live such comfortable lives here that we need to purposely remind ourselves and our children not to grumble about small things, but to keep it all in perspective and to pray for those who face adversity most of us have never come close to:
Prayer for Japan

Lord, I just want to say THANK YOU,
Because this morning I woke up and knew where my children were.
Because this morning my home was still standing,
Because this morning I am not crying
Because my spouse, my child, my brother or sister, my parent does not need to be buried or to be pulled out from underneath a pile of concrete,
Because this morning I was able to drink a glass of water,
Because this morning I was able to turn on the light,
Because this morning I was able to take a shower,
Because this morning I was not planning a funeral,
But most of all I thank you this morning because I still have life and a voice to cry out for the people of Japan .
japan earthquake 2.jpgLord I cry out to you, the One that makes the impossible, possible,
The One that turns darkness in to light,
I cry out that You give those mothers strength,
That You give them peace that surpasses all understanding,
That You may open the streets so that help can come,
That You may provide doctors, nurses, food, water, and all that they need in a blink of an eye.
For all those that have lost family members, give them peace, give them hope, give them courage to continue to go on!
Protect the children and shield them with your power.
I pray all this in the name of Jesus!!!

Oh Glorious Day!

Yes! It's the feast of the Annunciation! Thanks be to God for the gift of His beloved Son, and thanks be to our Blessed Mother for her "yes" to God.
Chosen by the Spirit for the Son. Blessed are you among women.

Dedication

Today was a very big day for our parish.
Good Shepherd, Perryville, was graced with the presence of our Bishop, Francis Malooly, as he dedicated our Altar and all the wonderful things that have come our way through the blessing of many people in many places.
Father Jay made in back from New York, where he has been caring for his mom. She is very ill.
Our two seminarians were there,

as well as several of our local priests and the two priests that were instrumental in Fr Jay's life as he became a priest. And of course, our Deacon, Luke Yackley.

It was a wonderful day.
Brendan has a terrible cough, and he had to stay in the back with Tim the whole time, but he did get outside long enough for a quick picture with the bishop.
