Today marks one of the most difficult, and incomprehensible days in the history of our country.
We all remember where we were at the moment that we heard about the horrendous news of an airliner, no, two airliners, smashing into the World Trade Center in New York. We couldn't believe it. It couldn't be possible for that to happen by accident, but how could it happen on purpose?
Who could conceive of doing such a thing?
Then... the Pentagon? Another Airliner crashing in Pennsylvania?
This was beyond even the imagination of a movie script writer. And it was real. It was true.
It is still true.
Mommies and Daddies that should be watching their kids go to high school are being memorialized in services held once again this year.
Families that were torn apart feel the raw horror of all those pictures and the stories told on the news once again.
Our national consciousness reels at the thought that there are people out there that hate us so much, just because we are us.
The images are stark and ugly. They are unthinkable.
They are indelible.
God Bless all those that lost loved ones. God Bless the people that have fought to come back from the tragedy and move forward. God Bless those that take care of the survivors and the families.
God Bless our Nation. Protect us and lead us in your Truth.
Let us never forget that we are "One Nation Under God".
