Snow?

For two days there has been this big buildup.

A Nor'easter! A foot of snow! The Mid-Atlantic buried! And it may well be, but right now it is seriously under-performing, as Justin Berk would say. We have a few flurries here and there, but it's definitely not the blizzard that was called for.

I will, of course, be taking pictures as the day goes on, but it started with this:

and now at 11:00 we have this:

Well, well....

We'll see where this ends up!

2:00 Sunday Afternoon

4:00 Sunday

And we came out with around 4 inches.

It's not a huge storm, but it's also not a huge dig out. Just enough to be pretty, but still be gone by the end of the week!

More Didi

Just have to post a few more pictures from today.

Went down to the farm and took our girl out for a little walk around to see the sights. She is a bit on the pushy side, so we worked on that too. I think she likes her new home and her new people!

I am just so excited for all that we will be able to do with her!

John's New Baby

Yes! John has gotten himself a very nice little used Pontiac Solstice. It is in excellent condition and he was very happy to hear that the mechanic gave it a clean bill of health. He is having a blast riding around with the top down even in the middle of January!

A Wonderful New Addition

Well yeah, it's been a LONG time since I have posted, in fact I think they have changed Blogger since then, but I am bursting with news and I have to share!

Lilly is now the proud owner of her very own horse! She has been riding for a long time, and has had mixed experiences with leasing horses. She has not been able to really bond because there is always going to be a "good-by". It has been a long road but she has proven herself and I am very proud of her.

When the current pony turned out to be less than a successful match, Nina decided to just cut out the middle man and find a horse for them. It wasn't easy, but we are very hopeful that this lovely mare is going to be their forever horse.

Her name is "Divine Citizen" and they call her Didi. She is a 7 year old thoroughbred mare, with a fantastic personality and hopefully ability to match.

They have had the vet give her a good going over and she seems to be as sound as they need her to be.

We went to pick her up this morning and, while it wasn't a perfect loading experience, she finally decided to get into the trailer and come with us.

We spent some time with her at her new home, and she settled right in. She was very happy about the large field that she was turned out into and a nice flake of hay. We bundled her into her new blanket, and she promptly laid down and rolled, just to break it in.

She is going to be one spoiled equine, but in all the good ways.

It is SO great to be able to have horse hair on my coat and to be back in the world that I have missed so much!!

Thanksgiving!

What a nice day this was!

Going to let pictures say it for me.

Cooke Kids!

These kids are so special! I love these pictures!

It has been a long year with Covid complicating travel and time with family. I missed going to Texas last Spring, and I wasn't going to miss out on the chance to see them in the fall. Lilly and I packed up school and headed down to Texas in November. It was still nice weather there and we were able to do some really fun stuff! The virus didn't keep us from hiking,

and watching movies and playing games.

Paul was just finishing up his "American Road Trip" and he met us at Laura's which was really fun. We were abel to caravan home!

Laura sent me pictures that  she took of the kids around Christmas.

I can't wait for Summer!! We are going to do a trip out West! That will be amazing!!

The mask sweat shop

Picnic on the Blanco "river" which in the fall, is the Blanco riverbed.

Can't wait to get on the road again.
