So this is the official project post, and it will follow the project as it goes along.
I wish that I had done this with every little thing we have done, but oh well, there will always be more to do.
So this is the "before" picture. Actually, the flooring is behind the bed, and so really it's the beginning of the work.
My plan is to keep updating each step and I will also add different views as we go along.
Ready...set....
And so it begins...
This is why we can't just sand down the floor...
And Tim has been at it all day!
The floor is almost done!! It looks so nice!!
.....and now we start on the walls!!
Moving right along...Tim has gotten the bottom color on and he is starting on the battens.
And except for the curtains and headboard, it's done!!
What a wonderful place to wake up each morning!
Goodnight!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Well we are officially into the American holiday season.
Yesterday was Thanksgiving and we had a wonderful meal with Nina and Lilly and Dougie. They had to come and eat early because they were making to circuit of Thanksgiving meals, so we ate around 2:00, and it was actually really nice to have the dishes over and done with before 5!
Now we have a fridge full of leftovers and a nice weekend ahead of us.
Laura's family had a nice day at the Walk's in Texas too!
Sunday is the first Sunday of Advent!!
It's hard to believe that we are here and that we have less than a month til Christmas.
I am excited though.
For Christmas, Tim and I are redoing our bedroom. It is time for a makeover and we have never done the floor, so that comes first. The original floor has a huge damaged spot under the bed, and it really is the next floor space that we need to tackle.
We got the flooring, and now we just need to move everything out of the room so that Tim can lay it.
That should only take a day or two, but the other things that we need to do will take longer...
It is so much fun though.
I mean, it is so much fun for me... not sure that I am speaking for Tim....
Sunday is Ravens day. They are playing the 49ers. Hope all goes to their plan.
So, I am going to create a project post, and I will put in pictures as we go along.
Cheerio!
Something I'm Learning
We spend the first part of our lives learning how to use words, and the rest of it learning when.

It's Almost Advent!
Sunday we celebrated the Feast of Christ the King!
It is one of my favorite feast days, because it is a declaration of the true nature of our relationship to Christ. He is the High King of the Universe, and all things are subject to Him.
I love that it is celebrated so close to Thanksgiving, because one of the things that I am most grateful for is the gift of the Catholic church and being a part of the precious Bride of Christ.
There are so many aspects of life that are only understood properly through the lens of the Faith. We are so blest to be able to attend a parish where we are fed and nurtured by our mother, the Church, and we learn how to share this treasure with our community.
St Patrick's is a wonderful "training ground" for people who want to understand better how Christ is drawing us to Himself and is asking us to help Him draw others.
We are building connections and creating a community of Faith, in the tradition of the communities that sprung up in the days of the early Church. What an amazing place to be in this time.
To be in the service of the King during this vital time in history is so exciting.
Thanksgiving is day after tomorrow!
Tomorrow I am going to be spending the day prepping food. It is nice to get as much done as possible before the big day because the oven is going to be used all day long. We have a big turkey.
They didn't have any under 24 pounds when I looked at Weis and I had enough points to get a free one.
Tomorrow I am going to make the mashed potatoes and get them into the crock pot to heat the next day, then I will prep the broccoli, and get it ready to roast. I will roast the sweet potatoes and just heat them up on Thursday.
I will also make the apple pie and the pumpkin dessert.
Brendan has to work until 6 and we are eating earlier, but I told him that I would make him an Angel Food cake so that he can have something that he really likes that day.
Wish he didn't have to work.
On Sunday Advent begins.
We are hearing about the second coming of Jesus at Mass this week. Father is doing a wonderful series at daily mass.
What a time that will be!

Going's on..
It's a chilly day out there today, but not as chilly as it is going to be tomorrow!
I got outside and pulled up all the plants and various pots and such.
I had to winterize a few things, like the rhubarb, and trim back the sage and rosemary.
It smells so good!
We have Bible Study tonight. We are going to be discussing Abraham and his Covenant. I love this study! I hope we have a good number of people.
It is so much better to discuss with a nice sized group.
I have been thinking about what to do about work (again. this seems to be a recurring theme.) I have decided to wait until after the TOB course in January, and then I will probably look at a part time job where I can just go to work, do my stuff and come home, and someone else deals with the taxes. Not sure yet, but it would help out around here and I do have the time during the day.
I don't know what the guys are going to end up doing this Spring, but we are one car short, and I need to be available for the one who gets stuck without.
Paul will be waiting to hear from the schools that he has applied to, and then he will have an idea of whether or not he is going away to college in the Fall or just stick around here and go to HCC
OK then, I am going to go have a salad and get to cleaning the kitchen.

Thursday
This week has been good!
Sunday was a nice day, quiet at home, and with a win for the Ravens!
Monday morning I had Bible Study and I was prepared! We had a very good discussion on James.
The guarding of the tongue and it's power.
There was no Adoration because it was Veteran's Day.
On Tuesday I was home most of the day. The weather has really turned to winter.
It was so cold!! I stayed in and worked on some projects.
Got a lot of laundry done and worked on some things that needed to be done for different ministries at St Patrick's.
Yesterday I started a new Bible Study with some of the ladies in the parish. We had a good discussion.
I have been getting ready to start a new study with our Small group.
We will be doing "Discovering Christ" for the next couple of months. I will be glad to get it started.
It is a really great study!
Today I had a nice coffee with Paula after Mass, and then I went up to Kimie's for our prayer time.
She seems to be doing well! We had a nice talk and some scripture reflection.
I came home and had lunch and then I took Brendan to work and shopped while I was there. I got the stuff for a soup that I wanted to try. It is a Sweet Potato and Sausage soup, and although it is kind of a lot of work, it was worth it! I took half up to Kimie's for their dinner, and we had some here.
I got the kitchen cleaned up, and now I am watching the Cleveland Browns clean their house.
They are playing the Steelers.
Tomorrow I will have Adoration, which I am really looking forward to, and I will go to the book club in the afternoon to discuss "Frankenstein", at least that is the plan for now. I also have The Great Adventure study that I am hosting tomorrow night so I need to come home and get ready for that.
It is looking like a quiet weekend.
I like quiet weekends.

What's Cooke-in' in Texas
It's been a while, but for good reason!
I was able to head down to Texas to see the Cookes, and boy did we have a great time!
I was so blest to be able to be there with Laura, and spend time talking and hanging out, and then being around the kids for all of the things that they are up to.
Pictures say it better though....
