Welcome to Lent!

I am sitting here this morning in a quiet house, and I am reflecting on what this Lent should mean.
Every year it is a time of giving up and offering up, but this year I would like to make it much more a time of growth.

I am committing to a few more things than I usually do, but I am hoping that they lead to a deeper awareness of what God desires for me.
I really want to grow this Lent!!

For the sacrifice part I have deactivated Facebook, which is just better for me all the way around.
I don't know if I will go back, and since it's not enough of a sacrifice, I am also going to give up meat, and refined sugar. I should feel better, because when I have really done that before, everything just feels and works better. I know that God really does want a healthier me!

For the Almsgiving I have decided to donate what I make with any hours that I work.
I will ask the people that I work for to make the donation, which also requires a certain level of trust on my part, and follow through on theirs.
Since my clients right now are people that I know will donate to organizations that I can feel confident about, I feel comfortable doing this.

I want to spend more time in Adoration. I want to read better things and be mindful of what the Lord is telling me in prayer.

God is so good, and I want to be able to get to the end of this Lent with more Grace and a less restless heart.

May we all have a Blessed and Holy Lent.
