Jeremiah Wright did have one point, he was just making it about the wrong issue.
America's chickens are coming home to roost. Well maybe America's chicks.
Every time I hear or read a warning about the dangers of Socialism (or redistributing wealth), I wonder who the target audience is. If anyone is raising an alarm by trying to warn young working people away from Socialism, they should realize that no one is listening.
Most of the population of this country, under the age of 40, has no clue about what Socialism really is, where it leads, or the implications for the whole world if America falls to it. Why should they? For the last 20-30 years, the American System of government, economics and social policy has been under attack at every level of the educational system. Why should voters in this age bracket have a desire to preserve a system that has been vilified in the classroom and the media for decades, and deny themselves the opportunity to rise to the heights of what they have been told, year after year, is the most responsible, fair and economically sound system?
What has been sown is about to be reaped. How can we expect anything else?
People think they should have anything they want, right now, and if it's not possible then it must be time for "change".
There is going to be some surprise amongst the ranks when the wealth is redistributed and the pot goes dry.
Gonna be some pretty confused and angry chickens out there.
