Today we begin our time of fasting, repentance and reparation.
Lent is always a time to bring the way we live into perspective.
Am I living in a way that is bringing me, daily, closer to Christ?
Am I pushing myself to cast off bad habits and sloth?
Do I really try to share the Gospel and work for the good of all God's people, especially the innocent?
Am I truly sorry for the things that I have done that are wrong and have I made amends with God and my neighbor?
This is a time to put ourselves, our wants, our comfort, last. This is a very hard thing for me. I am used to having what I want when I want it.
Easter seems a very long time away...
