Well, Mom and Dad just got on the ferry to go home after a very long day in Seattle.
The news is mixed, but with God, I know that the road is paved with Grace-filled moments.
Mom had another CAT scan today and it showed that the stents are in place and working the way they are supposed to. That is good news. It really needs to stay put, so that is one prayer we have.
The plan for treatment is to start a 3 month chemo regimen, and hope to shrink tumors in the colon, liver and a couple of lymph nodes. It sounds like the Oncologist is confident that they can beat it back although it may take awhile.
Please pray for minimal side effects and well, of course, healing. Mom needs every calorie that she can get, and please pray that the chemo can work around the Schleroderma.
I am constantly amazed at the Grace and Joy that I hear every time I speak to mom and dad on the phone. They are doing so well and they are praising God for His will and the many, many people that are praying them through this.
Keep lifting them up, and please, see the joy and the beauty around you. Take stock of every day that God gives you and thank Him for it. It is a gift. That's something that I know mom and dad want all their prayer warriors to remember. They have felt the Communion of Saints so close and faithful.
Thanks so much to everyone who is doing and praying for them. There are people that are doing so much to help lighten this load, and it lifts my own heart, since I can't be there right now.
From the bottom of my heart thank you and Praise God!
