I opened my Firefox browser this morning and the first thing I saw was this wonderful meditation.
It is by a woman I know in Regnum Christi. I have read other things she has written, but this was just amazing! It totally took me to another Holy Saturday, a real time, with real people who loved Our Lord in His life on earth.
My heart aches for Our Lady and the apostles, especially Peter. He really feels as if he has done the unthinkable. He has been given so much by his Lord and best friend, but the last words his Friend heard him say before he died were "I don't know him". I'm sure Peter wanted to believe in Christ's rising, but he must have felt so devastated by the thought that he might never have a chance to say he was sorry, to make things right.
I will never forget this image that Sylvia has woven.
As I go about my day, I am going to do a lot of thinking about what those closest to Our Lord must have felt.
