A Very Good Friday...

Today is one of those points in every year that is a centering point. It has so much contained within it. I always feel like I can't be solemn enough, I can't be grateful enough. It is a time to delve into something that is very uncomfortable. I remember when "The Passion" came out. I didn't really want to go see it, but I knew that I couldn't NOT go see it. I would have felt like I was avoiding Him in his pain. I had to at least suffer with Him in a superficial way.
So I want Him to know that I am with Him today. That the way of the Cross is going to be my way too. We will watch "The Passion", as we watched the Passion in "Jesus of Nazareth" with the boys.
I did the "Way of The Cross" as I listened to EWTN.
I always wish that I had been more disciplined, given up more during Lent. I always wish that I had spent more time in prayer.
It's hard to be real comtemplative with three boys running all over the house. They are not exactly in a prayerful frame of mind. They do great for awhile, but I have to remember where they are at in their formation. They understand so much. Paul is able to understand the sacrifice of Christ and why He had to die on the cross. He kept making comments during the movie, and I was amazed at what he understands.
Today is a solemn day of reflection, tomorrow is a quiet day of waiting,Sunday is a triumphant day of JOY!!
I love the intense celebration of the Easter Vigil. It just carries me along in the joy of HIS RISING!! Easter Sunday is always just a HAPPY day! I wake up and realize, once again, that we are living in the time of Salvation. All these years after Christ, every Easter is a new reminder that the Savior has Saved! The story will end in triumph and we will never have to be afraid.
